MAHAYAHAY Beach Resort
Looking for a beach south of Cebu yet not too fond of overcrowded or secluded beaches? Try Mahayahay Beach, located in the town of Argao.

Mahayahay Beach is the place to be if you’re looking for activities on the beach this side of Cebu. Kids will love swimming in its crystal-clear waters, while those who are a bit adventurous will fall in love with skim boarding, a popular past time among the children living close to Mahayahay Beach.
It’s not as crowded as White Beach in Basdako, Moalboal, yet it’s also not as secluded as other beaches in southern Cebu, as it has several beachfront resorts and home stays available for those looking to stay for a night or two. This makes it the perfect getaway for anyone who’s grown tired of overcrowded beach resorts.
To get to Mahayahay Beach, you can take a CERES Liner bus straight from Cebu’s South Bus Terminal to Argao, then take a tricycle from Argao to Mahayahay Beach.

PLAZA INDEPENDENCIA
Plaza Independencia is strategically located between Fort San Pedro and the building that used to be the Gobierno Provincial in the downtown area of Cebu. The plaza is a popular hangout for many living or working around the area. It is one huge garden filled with trees, ornamental plants and flowers. There is also a public skating rink and a kiosk at the center of the circular skating rink. An obelisk dedicated to the memory of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, the first Spanish governor-general of the Philippines, is planted at the very heart of the plaza.
It is located in M.J. Cuenco Avenue and Legaspi Extension, Barangay San Roque, Cebu City. It is conveniently located right beside Fort San Pedro and near the Magellan’s Cross and the Cebu City Port. Its strategic location makes it easier for tourists and locals to visit the place.
The park used to be a haven for robbers and a dating place for maids on their day offs. The local government, realizing the significance of the place, made a great effort to improve the site and made it conducive for tourists and locals . The site was renovated and beautified with beautiful landscapes and clean comfort rooms.. Right now, the Plaza Independencia is a place perfect for picnics, sightseeing, picture taking, and relaxation. It is now safe to stay in the park because Security Guards are posted in the area, watching over the cleanliness and security of the park.
